At Crimson Academies — including Crimson Global Academy, Crimson AGE School, and Mt Hobson Academy — the safety and wellbeing of children and young people sit at the heart of everything we do. As a global network of schools operating across online environments and physical campuses, we support students from a wide range of cultures, jurisdictions, and learning pathways. Regardless of where or how they learn, every student is entitled to a safe, respectful, and protective environment.
Safeguarding is not an add-on to our work; it is a core part of our leadership, culture, curriculum, and daily practice. All staff, tutors, contractors, and volunteers share in this responsibility, and our systems are designed to prevent harm, promote wellbeing, and respond decisively to any concerns.

We recognise that modern education takes place in diverse settings — from classrooms to digital platforms to one-to-one online instruction. Each of these comes with unique opportunities and risks, and our safeguarding approach is built to meet those realities with clarity, consistency, and care. Where legal requirements differ across countries, we uphold the most protective standard to ensure every learner receives robust, high-quality safeguarding.
Our safeguarding framework aligns with the child-protection laws and guidance of our key jurisdictions, including New Zealand, Australia, the United Kingdom, and the United States. This policy is adopted in accordance with the requirements of the Children’s Act 2014 (NZ), which obliges all school boards in New Zealand to maintain and regularly review a child protection policy, to make it publicly available, and to ensure that it extends to all relevant contractors and providers of children’s services.
Alongside those policies developed for individual schools, this is the overarching safeguarding policy that applies across all Crimson Academies. While school-specific policies may be tailored to local requirements or contexts, this policy sets the unified standards and expectations that guide safeguarding practice across our entire network. This is not the safeguarding policy for Aotearoa Infinite Academy. That policy is available here: https://www.aotearoainfiniteacademy.school/information-policy-hub.
At its core, our ethos is simple: students thrive when they feel safe, respected, and empowered. We work in partnership with families and communities, we listen to student voices, and we strive to uphold the best interests of the child in every decision we make.
